Questions
What is AirPrint?
AirPrint is Apple's way to print from an iPhone or iPad with no app or driver on the phone. Older printers don't have it. This driver lets your Mac add it for them.
Can I print from my iPhone to a printer without AirPrint?
Yes. Set the printer up on your Mac, turn it on in Print from iPhone & iPad, and it shows up in the Print menu on your iPhone.
Does it work with HP, Canon, Brother and Epson printers?
Yes, with any printer set up on your Mac, including USB printers. Printers that already have AirPrint don't need this.
Does my Mac have to stay on?
Yes. Your iPhone prints through your Mac, so the Mac has to be on and awake, on the same Wi-Fi.
Can other people print to it?
Anyone on the same Wi-Fi can. It's off until you turn it on, and you pick which printers to share.
